A Visit from 410 Project Bike

410’s Project Bike is a statewide bicycle tour of artists across Minnesota. For ten days 410 Project’s Director Dana Sikkila set out on a 501-mile bike tour with her trailer, and camera crew connecting with Minnesota artists, learning what motivates her fellow Minnesotans to create art. Dana and her team visited my studio in 2017, making a film and collecting my drawings for a group exhibition in Mankato. 410 Project Bike Film on Vimeo.

Ball Aboard

Take an imaginary ride on the light-rail from Target Field Station. Choose the Blue Line to the Mall of America or the Green Line to Union Depot. I designed this mini-golf hole with the help of my son Christian Weeks in 2017 for the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden adjacent to the Walker Art Center.

Universe-ity

I collaborated with my friend Carolyn Swiszcz at Space 369 in St. Paul, April 1-30, 2017. Titled Universe-ity, the artwork was inspired by things along University Avenue near Space 369 in Saint Paul's Midway area. My work focused on the Metro Transit light rail. Camille LeFevre wrote about the show for mplsart.com.

In the Halls of St. Olaf College

My large painting, Gasoline, was installed in the newly remodeled Holland Hall at St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN. Two additional paintings were in installed in the Digital Scholarship Center in Rolvaag Library at St. Olaf.

Wheel Within a Wheel

In 2016 I had a solo exhibit at the Northfield Arts Guild. The show included ten large-scale painting. I used ordinary objects as subject matter—bicycle, soft drink cup, gas can, saw blade, and other materials from the made world--and transformed them through alterations in perspective, shape, scale, and patterning.

Kiehle Gallery

I had a solo exhibition of drawings on paper in 2015 at the Kiehle Gallery, St. Cloud State University.

Art in Odd Places: Indianapolis

I had a solo exhibit of 44 small paintings in the Rural Aesthetic Initiative's Traveling Museum at Art in Odd Places: Indianapolis, Indiana. This series of 44 paintings brings two distinct cultures into a conversation: the material culture of my Northfield garage and text from "Ezekiel's Vision of the Wheel" written around 600 BCE in Babylon.

Walker Art Center Interactive Drawing

I made an interactive drawing for the Walker Art Center featuring artwork from the museum's permanent collection. Guests on Free First Saturdays received a free copy of the drawing in 2015.

Morrison Gallery, University of MN, Morris

At the University of MN, Morrison Gallery I exhibited my series Wheel Within a Wheel--forty-four small painting of items in my garage.
